Last day at the Technology Fair 2016 in Borlänge
I have now finished my last lecture to what I consider to be a very impressive group of young people in grade 8. The fact that 20 eighth graders are sitting and listening and showing interest in the engineering profession makes me very happy. This is exactly what Swedish industry needs. Fearless and without the knowledge that the impossible is not impossible.
Nanoscientist Maria Strømme told the story of how she and her research group managed to produce Upsalite, a substance that for over a hundred years was said to be impossible to produce. Maria Strømme also says that if she had known about the research that said it was impossible, Upsalite probably wouldn't exist today. Please check out the link to her Wikipedia below

It was also fun to listen to Nassim Al Fakir and how he led the panel of engineers through the questions from the young people.
I feel proud and satisfied with these two days. Maybe, maybe I have succeeded in inspiring someone to enter the toolmaking profession and maybe I stood in front of one or some of my future colleagues.
Many thanks to Technology Fair 2016 and Museum of the Future that you thought it was worth having me there as a speaker and thank you to all the young people who came and listened.
Now I'm trying to transport myself from Borlänge to Falun like young people do, by bus.
